Chris Gaffney
Brad Bardon
Chris Bauer
For the education portion of this year's conference, we have 3 gentlemen responsible for all the major golf tournaments in the New York City metropolitan area.
Chris Gaffney is the Director of Championships for the Metropolitan Golf Association and is charged annually with running the Met Open, Met Am, the Ike Championship and many others. Chris also assists the USGA each year with US Open Local and Sectional Qualifying. This year's Met Open is at the famous Bethpage Black course and Chris will handle what amounts to the most prestigious event of the year in our area.
Brad Bardon is the Director of Championships for the New Jersey State Golf Association. He runs the NJ State Open, State Amateur and many other championships during the golf season. He also assists the USGA with qualifying events for their various Championships. He works in hand in hand with the rest of the NJSGA Staff to run a busy tournament schedule each year.
Finally, Chris Bauer is the Executive Director for the New Jersey PGA. Although his home base is at Fiddlers Elbow Country Club, Chris is on the road multiple days per week assisting his small staff in running the NJPGA Junior Tour, Pro-Ams at area clubs and larger format NJPGA events like the Clambake at Hollywood and the Section Championship at Manasquan River. Chris also works hand in hand with the New Jersey Golf Foundation to enhance philanthropic efforts in New Jersey.
If you want to learn how to run an event, these 3 guys are the best in the business. From rules officiating to course set up to working with the host professional and even the volunteers, these local guys do all the organization, planning and hard work that goes in to running a successful tourney. We are grateful for their time and dedication to the local golf scene.
